Welcome to Importance of Women in IT.
We’ve got a brand new look

The “Importance of Women in IT’ series is a morning speaker event for our members and their guests, where we ask inspiring women and men in Information Technology or related fields, to share their experiences about the job they do now, how they got to where they are, the challenges they faced, the pitfalls they experienced along the way and the successes celebrated.

The series is designed to give our members and guests the opportunity to:

  • Gain an understanding of what is possible

  • Consider different career opportunities and alternatives
  • Hear real life experiences on how to deal with some of the challenges that face women in the workforce and
  • Gain different and/or new perspectives on the IT industry

In this webinar, Authors of Core Confidence, Kate Boorer and Fiona Pearman will show you how to reframe your relationship with fear and failure and leverage confidence and resilience to create the career and life you deserve. Having worked with hundreds of women just like you – they know that a fixed mindset may keep you safe … but it will also keep you playing small.

Now, there’s only one question left, are you ready to face your fears, lead through change, and build a resilient mindset?

Make sure you register now to reserve your place for this webinar event with experts Kate and Fiona, who’ve walked in your shoes and are keen to share their tips with you.

Fall Down & Get Back Up Again – Resilience, failure and fear

Failure and fear are two of the most important elements of understanding your relationship with confidence. The ability to reframe failure as feedback and leverage fear as a sign to look at what is really going on rather than a signal to stop or decline opportunities, provides a strong foundation to lean into the actions and decisions that can be described as ‘Acts of Confidence’.

And while we often do everything to prevent failure, the reality is that if you are really stepping outside your comfort zone then it’s not a matter of if you will fail, but when. And when you fail, having the resilience strategies to bounce back and learn from it gives you the ability to move forward even when things are challenging.
