About speakers
Justine has been actively investing and advising in investment markets globally for more than 25 years. From trading equities in Perth Western Australia, to trading on global bourses for hedge fund managers such as Soros, Citadel and Tudor in London she has learnt resilience from being a female minority in the male dominated world of finance. Having worked for large international investment houses such as Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse, she is now happily ensconced at Providence Wealth Advisory where she enjoys leveraging off her global investment experience to help individuals, families and not for profits protect and grow their wealth so that they can be successful in achieving their life goals.
Justine is passionate about empowering others to not only achieve financial empowerment but also to maximise the quality of their family relationships. Her advisory work with families involves more than wealth management, also encompassing family strategy, succession planning, communication/conflict resolution and planning for sustainability. She enjoys mentoring other young women and is a keen advocate for encouraging more women to join the financial services industry.
As a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, Member of the Responsible Investment Association of Australia and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she brings a strong governance lens to her work with NFP board and family offices in refining processes, writing investment policies and incorporating sustainability into their practices.
Although our financial health is explicitly tied to our overall health and well being, often the world of finance can seem complex and overwhelming. With so much jargon and complex moving parts, it can be difficult to know where to start, particularly when you are busy with family and career. Breaking past the jargon Justine will break down the most important financial concepts giving you the tools and a framework to empower you to achieve your financial independence.
With sustainability increasingly central to all our lives, Justine will talk about how to incorporate sustainable investment practices into your investments - leveraging opportunities and understanding the challenges.
As we move into a time of great wealth transfer, she will also offer strategies for communicating effectively with senior and junior family members to broach often difficult topics around financial goals, structures and legacy.
