Victorian ICT Skills Snapshot report - June 2007
Prepared by Multimedia Victoria this publication provides statistics and commentary on the state of ICT skills in Victoria. For example 84% of positions are held by males and there is a continuing decline of women choosing to study ICT at universities. On the positive side demand for ICT skills is increasing as are salaries.

Victorian Government ICT Industry Plan - June 2007
In 2001, the Victorian Government released Growing Tommorrow's Industries Today. A 10 year plan for the information and communication technology (ICT) industry. Because this is such a dynamic industry, the Plan flagged the need to regularly monitor industry developments and be prepared to adapt accordingly.
The Victorian Government ICT Industry Plan 2005-2010 (prepared by Multimedia Victoria) has responded with new targeted strategies and initiatives for the sector.

ACS Policy Statement on Work / Life Balance
With a potential skills shortage looming because of diminishing student enrolment in ICT disciplines and low participation rates of women in the ICT workforce the ICT industry must improve its reputation and practices if it is to attract people to meet the future demand within the Australian economy. The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has prepared a series of recommendations for flexible working practices.

Attitudes to ICT Careers and Study among 17 to19-year-old Victorians
The Victorian Government commissioned independent research in June 2004 to conduct a comprehensive survey of attitudes to ICT careers among current and recently graduated Year 12 students, aged 17 - 19. This report summarises the findings from that study.
