VIC ICT FOR WOMEN - WORKSHOP PROGRAM

Women on Boards Workshop

The Vic ICT for Women Workshop Program provides a forum for informed and enlightened discussion on issues that are specific to women working in ICT. Open to Vic ICT for Women members only, the workshops are designed for a small group, of 15 participants. A subject matter expert leads the discussion with a short presentation, followed by interactive discussion and drinks.

On Thursday 11 May Chris Gillies, Vic ICT for Women Board Member and full time Non Executive Director focusing on IT Governance, presented the Women on Boards Workshop the very first of our workshops. Drawing on her expertise as a Director of Centrelink, Sealcorp, Oakton, Emergency Communications Victoria, Commsecure and UCMS Chris provided insight into the ins and outs of board membership paying special attention to how to go about being appointed to a board, barriers to women being on boards and what is really involved in being a board member.

The intimate group of members enjoyed engaging discussion and intimate networking experiences. Vic ICT for Women is very pleased with the outcome of this event and is looking forward to hosting many more workshops in the future.
